UB, DEVCON ink memo to provide skills to studes

On bridging the gap between academia and industry, the University of Batangas (UB) and the Developers Connect Philippines (DEVCON) entered a significant partnership following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the CBI office located at UB Lipa Campus held last March 6, 2024.

Dr. Aurora Tolentino, Mr. Ericson Mendoza, Elvie Pita, and Arjay Gonzales facilitated the signing of the memorandum, being the representatives of the university; Rachelle Perez was also present on behalf of DEVCON.

This program aimed to impart students with the necessary skills and knowledge for them to excel in their future careers.

The MOU signing marked the beginning of a series of conferences in Batangas and surrounding cities which will be open for all schools in the province.

Although conducting the said events will only be possible in Lipa in the meantime, it will be open to other disciplines which include and will not be limited to Information Technology (IT) students and professionals since artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology are already used in different fields.

These conferences will further heighten this newly formed partnership and contribute towards the shared goal of industry-ready education.
